measure of growth సరైనది కాదు అనిపిస్తుంది ఎందుకంటే పెరగని మార్పులు చాలా ఉన్నాయి....సూర్యుడు ఉదయించటం అస్తమించటం లాటివి...కాబట్టి measure of growth అన్నదే సరైన నిర్వచనమేమో.

మీరు అనుకుంటున్నా  vaccum అనేది మీరు తీసుకునే frame of reference ను బట్టి ఉంటుంది...మీరే అన్నారు "mostly" vaccum అని. అసలైతే vaccum అన్నది కొంచం మాత్రమె నిజం కదా.....ఒక గ్రహం నుండి ఇంకో గ్రహం మధ్య మాత్రమె వాక్యుం..గ్రహాలూ పదార్థాలే కదా. కాబట్టి మనం పాలపుంతను frame of reference గా తీసుకుంటే అక్కడ vaccum లొ టైం ఏమిటి అన్న ప్రశ్న ఉండదు....ఎందుకంటే పాలపుంతలో ఎంతో పదార్ధం ఎన్నో గ్రహాలూ, ఉపగ్రహాలు, నక్షత్రాలు రూపంలో. వాటిలో మార్పు ఉంది....చలనం ఒకరకమిన్ అమార్పే కదా! కాబట్టి అక్కడ సమయం ఉండటం సబబే అనిపిస్తుంది.

ఇకపోతే మీ linearity dilemma. "ముందుకే" ఎందుకు అన్నది ఆ డిలేమా.

తాత్వికంగా ఆలోచించుకుంటే ఒక పెద్ద వృత్తంలొ ముందుకు వెళుతున్న చిన్ని చీమకు (ఒక వంద మైళ్ళ రెడియస్ వేసుకోండి ఆ చీమకు) అప్పుడు ఆ చీమకు ఎప్పుడూ ఒక ముకుతిన్నని దారే కనపడుతుంది కాని వృత్తం కనపడదు కదా? so it is a matter of "perceptual extant"  అనిపిస్తుంది. మన మానవ పిపీలకాలకు ఇంకా ఆ సమయం వృత్తాన్ని చూసేంత విశాల దృష్టి స్థాయి ఇంకా రాలేదేమో.

leaving apart this may be and ifs and buts, let us tackle the question of linearity of time i.e the difficulty of time travel.

if we agree on the definition of time being a measure of change then what do we mean when we say we can not mend a broken glass (may be a broken heart as well :)? అతికించినా "అతికింది" "అతికించబడింది" (కాలం ముందుకే వెళుతోంది) అనే అనిపిస్తుంది కాని "వెనుకటి అద్దం" అవదు (కాలంలో వెనక్కు వెళ్ళలేము) ఎందుకని?

మొదటి కారణం.....అణుస్థాయిల వరకు అవసరం లేదు...ఒక చిన్న మైక్రోస్కోప్ పెట్టుకుని చూస్తె చాలు ఎంతో ఎక్కువ కష్టపడకుండానే కనపడుతాయి పగుళ్ళ చాయలు....every happenstance thus leaves a trace.....అందుకని మనం అతికించేసాము (కాలంలో వెనక్కు వెళ్ళాము) అనుకోవటం ఎంత స్థాయి వరకు చేయగలం? అది మొదటి కారణం అవవచ్చు ఆ "ముందుకే వెళుతుంది వెనక్కు వెళ్ళలేము" అన్న మన భావనకు కారణం

రెండో కారణం...అద్దాన్ని అతికిన్చేస్తే చాలు మనం కాలంలో వెనక్కు వెళ్ళినట్టేనా? కాదే. అద్దం పగలకముందు ఉన్న spatial coordinates of all the things in this entire universe (universe being used very loosely....we goldfish will never know the edges of the glass bowl that holds us is my thought)will have to be the same again for the time to be going back......which looks like an almost impossible task to us for the time being.

మూడో కారణం.....పైన రెండు కారణాలు ప్రాణం లేని జగత్తులో జరిగేవి....కాని ఈ మూడో కారణం ప్రాణసహితమైన జగత్తు ఇది అని తెలిపేది. every live being records the changes around it in some way....i.e. every living thing has its own memory trace.....from the lowly bacteria which live on hydrogen sulphide which will record the changes in the %of H2S in its environ in its cytoplasm (this is its memory bank) to the "mighty" poet who burnishes the trace of the lovely lass's tresses in his brain's sulci and gyri (folds). so even if we are able to somehow change the coordinates of "all" things back to that exact moment when the glass broke (the breadth) and repair all the changes of the break in the mirror down to the last divisible boson or whatever.......the trace of this "past" event remains in the "observer" or "experiencer". so the depth of repair has to be achieved in each and every participant of the "event", however minutest their role in the event may be.......again a seemingly impossible task atleast for us now.

కాబట్టి మై సమయ్ హూ అంటూ కదిలేది ముందుకో వృత్తాకారమో మనకు తెలీదు...ఇప్పటికి.

కాబట్టి వెనక్కు వెళ్ళలేము అనిపిస్తుంది...ఇప్పటికి.

మన జగత్తులో మానసిక శక్తికి మించినది లేదు అంటారు. అందుకే ఆ మనసు  మీద జయం పొందిన తపోధనులకు ఈ కాలం కూడా అడ్డురాదట...దూరదృష్టులూ, దివ్యదృష్టులూ, time travels సాధ్యమట. పుక్కిటి పురాణాలో, కట్టుకథలో అనుకుని తీసిపారేస్తామో అదీ ఓ విద్యే అనుకుని సాధన చేస్తామో........
