Random Ramblings

Earth's children...first novel of series written in 1980. About Cromagnon and Neandarthal's co existence....their pride and prejudices, their biases etc......set 30000 years ago.........and, so reflective of us in our NOW times........makes me wonder if Jean, the authoress actually wrote it keeping in mind our"timeless and eternal" "they and us" concepts. This led to the recent post about allegedly Goebbel's comments about how easy it is to incite majority of normal people to hatred and atrocities..."just give them someone to hate (i.e make them hate and fear "them" and fear for "us") he says.....................................and then think about the rise of BJP from 2 seats.................................and then think, if "we" are always made of "them" and "us".......................since cromagnon and neanderthal times...................so would be it in eons to come. Makes us realise the futility of everything, even "good things" for what is "good"? I grew up with values I cherish......only to see them shattered to millions of peaces of people close to my own heart...........I know of people who are very very kind courteous and generous human beings........but who follow the concepts I abhor to my core. If "goodness" is so fleeting that in a span of 20 years it changes from being THE value to that of a chetakaanitanam, if just because of what we read, hear and see makes us in believing in two opposite ends of spectrum so firmly and vehemently as being good.......what is the use of being good/thinking good/wanting good. ...........Makes one realize what people say about this world being a stage on which we are but bit players. MAKES ONES REALIZE THE FUTILITY OF IT ALL
