సమస్య మూలాల్ని అర్ధం చేసుకోవడం మొదటి మెట్టు.
ReplyDeleteఆ తరువాత మిగతా వారికి తెలియచెప్పే ధైర్యం చేయడం రెండవ మెట్టు. ఇక్కడ ధైర్యం ఎందుకు కావాలో నాకు తెలియాలన్నా కూడా నేను మొదటి మెట్టు ఎక్కివుండాలి.
ఈ మెట్లు ఎక్కిన వాడిని ఖండించడం అంటే, నేను సమస్య అర్ధం కాని ' గల్లిబుల్ ' నయినా కావాలి, లేదా అర్ధం చేసుకొని కూడా ఖండించడం అంటే, 'వారి ' మనోభావాలు దెబ్బతింటాయేమో అని భయపడి గాని, లేదా పర్యవసానాలకు భయపడే ' పిరికి ' వాడిని గాని లేదంటే, ' అవతలి ' వాడిని గానీ కావాలి.
నేను ఖండించాల్సింది జరిగిన ఘోరాన్ని, విమర్షించాల్సింది దాని కారకుల్ని.
మూలాల్ని అర్ధం చేసుకొని, నిర్ములించేంతవరకు, ఈ సమస్య మళ్లీ మళ్లీ, మన దేశంలోనే కాదు, అన్ని దేశాల్లోనూ ఎప్పటిలాగే వస్తూనే వుంటుంది.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you that generalizations based on sampling can lead to dangerous assumptions and consequences.
But it is important to recognize the scourge of terrorism that is being perpetrated in the name of religion. To equate Islamic terrorism with so called "Hindu terrorism" is like equating Aids/Cancer with common cold. Islamic terrorism is organized, sustained and very heavily funded. Until you agree that it is a menace beyond comparison, all discussions will be moot.
If the Muslim community is being blamed for this menace, its because the common man is not a Mahatma to offer the other cheek time and again. A couple of bomb blasts every other month in different parts of India, invariably claiming precious lives and spreading terror among people, have alienated the community to a great extent. You can be all rational about how the victims should still maintain a balanced and unbiased opinion of the Muslim community, but why should they? They have lost a child, a brother, a friend or they are just terrified (and lost their peace of mind). Unfortunately, they do understand that they are being targeted specifically.
Believe me, if Hindu community did not have the tolerance, we would have had a civil war that would have left blood pouring on the streets. I do not advocate it nor do I desire it. But to discount Hindu tolerance and equate sporadic reactionary events with Islamic terrorism is disgusting and depressing. In fact, it is this very behavior on the part of so called liberals that leads sections of Hindu community take to extreme measures.
Instead of placing the blame squarely where it belongs, the media/Government/intellectuals come up with laborious arguments to placate the perpetrators of terrorism and their sympathisers. In the name of tolerance, they start pointing out that we all do commit sins and one community is not to blame. Isn't it cynical and absolute nonsense?
Lets say person A has a serious tumor that's fast spreading and person B has no such tumor. Agreed, killing person A and getting rid of the tumor is not the right solution.
However, its disastrous to simply state "all human beings have tumors, A has one and B does too".
Its important to recognize that its A that has the tumor and its A that needs to be treated.

ReplyDeleteపెద్దాయన గాని, హిట్లర్ గాని నాకు ఇష్టమైన వారు కాదు. అలాగని అసహ్యించుకోను. వారి నుంచి నేర్చుకోవలసినవి కొన్ని వున్నై. కొన్ని నేర్చుకోకూడదు. వారిలోని కాఠిన్యం, అహంకారం ఆక్షేపణీయమే గాని, ప్రపంచమంతా ఎదురించినా మొక్కవోని దృఢత్వం నేర్వదగింది.
మీరు మన ప్రభుత్వాన్ని శిఖండులుగా ఎందుకు భావిస్తున్నారు? వారి కుహనాలౌకిక వాదమే వారిని కట్టడి చేస్తోంది.
మన దేశంలో ఎవరైనా నేను హిందువునని చెప్పడానికి భయపడే రోజులొచ్చాయి. మీలాంటి వారు మత చాంధసులని ముద్ర వేసేస్తున్నారు. హిందువులను తిడితేగాని భారతంలో వారు లౌకికులుగా గుర్థించబడటం లేదు.
నేను సైలంట్ మెజారిటీ నైజాన్ని వివరించానంతే. వాళ్ళకు గాంధి ఐనా హిట్లర్ ఐనా ఒక్కటే. తప్పు చేసిన వారినే శిక్షించాలి కాదనను కానీ వారు ఒక వర్గం మద్దతు లోపాయికారిగా పొందుతున్నపుడు వారికీ దెబ్బలు తప్పదు.
