What if I was a Gujarati?
"Much however I accept that a bit of Hindu fundamentalism is necessary to counterbalance the Muslim fundamentalism in India, I would never support, vote or talk in favour of BJP, the political and public face of Hindu fundamentalism" has been my Bheeshma prathigna since 1992.
Then comes this blue blooded RSS goon onto my consciousness, responsible, in my judgement, by both commission and omission, I tell myself, for offering up my country's secular fabric in the ashes of a burnt bogey. (Pseudo secularism they call it...ha ha.) I hate this man and start loosing friends because I oppose their demi god in arguments.I grin and bear the loss of these "friends". I push him out of my consciousness.
But, accept I have to, that this goon does not give me any peace. Not by notoreity but by his administrative ability.
If, as this report says, he is able to achieve 9% agricultural growth in Gujarat...........I have to salute him.

So, here comes my problem
I hope this development does not turn out to be the patient ploy of this not so old wily animal to take over entire India and then show its true spots. I really hope it has turned over a new page.

He is doing what is necessary for the nation, which is unfortunately ruled by people surrounded by sycophants like you. His State accepted him, and it is no wonder if the nation too becomes mature and doesn't give in to false propaganda. All your references about him, calling him an animal, reflect your culture, nothing else.
ReplyDeleteMr Surya,
ReplyDeleteThanks, yes it is my culture.
Anybody who allows people to get butchered just because they belong to one religion, inspite of having power to stop it, in my eye is a goon or animal. I have no doubt about that.
The main point of this post was my honest introspection if this change in him is a real change or an ultimate startegy for the bigger pie called India. And if somebody can really be good to a nation standing on a foundation of skulls and religious hatredness? And as the time goes on and I become "mature" I don't mind but only after being satisfied of its reason. Till that time I continue to ask questions and it does not matter if I am called a sycophant.
Mr.Bhavakudan:
ReplyDeleteApology for my personalized remarks.
It being a fact that we see others through the invisible eyeglasses we wear, called perception or prejudice, I personally consider Modi as the best and less-corrupt among Indian politicians. Coming to religion and divisive politics, none of the present-day politicians wants the major communities to be united. None shuns from the warmth that fires of communal hatred give.
