The joke's on me

Saw a cuddly toy, a big one actually, lying on one of my ward's corridor, arriving for a ward round, which I was covering for a colleague on leave. This was quite unusual since we do have children on the ward but not the 4 legged or 2 legged varieties. Ours are all the 3 legged types.

When I walked in to the nursing office and saw a qualifed nurse and an unqualified nurse sitting.

"So, did we have any family visit one of our patients today Marian?" saying to myself "well done Watson"

"no doctor why do you ask?" asks Marian, the qualified nurse

"well I saw a cuddly toy in the corridor....do any of them play with cuddly toys?" I explained deflated
(well there was no joy of being clever if nobody noticed that I was clever, is there?)

"oh, yes, they all do doctor" says Marian seriously

"They all do........." I stare blankly at them
(I start mentally ticking off the criteria for Huntington's disease and Dementia to see if I missed anything!)

"oh yes doctor" chimes in the anonymous guy "the qualifieds do that all the time"

Ouch! That hurt.
First blood to the unqualified and that too two scarves!
